James Blunt to play free show in Florida – Crowd Control blog

Grammy winner James Blunt doesn't have a U.S. tour on the books at the moment, but he's scheduled to play a free show at Downtown at the Gardens, a mall in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

George Jones admitted to Nashville hospital

Country great George Jones will be hospitalized in Nashville overnight, but expects to be back home by Thursday (1/6), according to a statement issued Wednesday (1/5) by his publicist.

According to the statement, Jones, 79, underwent a "routine health checkup" on Wednesday and doctors admitted him overnight so that they could monitor an undisclosed health issue. ...continued

Snoop Dogg tours, preps for release of "Doggumentary"

Snoop Dogg will get the party started later this month in anticipation of his forthcoming album, "Doggumentary Music."

The iconic West Coast rapper will begin promoting his 11th effort with a Jan. 18 performance in San Francisco. So far, the tour bus is slated to stop by clubs and theaters in 11 cities before wrapping up Feb. 3 in Wichita, KS. It's been five years since alt-metal band Alter Bridge arrived in the wake of Creed's break-up, with Creed alumni Mark Tremonti (guitar), Scott Phillips (drums) and Brian Marshall (bass) recruiting Myles Kennedy, formerly of the Mayfield Four, as the frontman.

Though Creed has since regrouped, Alter Bridge is still going strong, hitting the road behind their new album, "AB III."
