RIP HD-DVD
Toshiba have officially announced that they're going to stop
making HD-DVD players, saying the tipping point came when Warner Bros announced
their Blu-ray support last month. We'll be sad to see the cheaper option go,
but it's about time there was some kind of resolution in this bloody battle of
the HD formats.from

There are, at this moment, 1,025 Google news
articles on the fact that Toshiba seem to be readying for an exit from the high
definition race, dumping their HD-DVD players and their overall support for the
HD-DVD format. So, I couldn't possibly pass up the chance to deliver you an
Blu-ray makeup? How does that work? Well,
apparently Cargo makeup has created a range of beauty products designed to be
used by makeup artists protecting their star's dodgy skin secrets from the
notoriously unforgiving nature of high definition shoots. And as a final nail
in HD DVD's coffin, the company is referencing Blu-ray big time.
Now could be the perfect time to snap up that HD-DVD player you've been
craving. Prices are falling through the floor, with the Xbox 360 add-on now
being sold for just $129.99 in the US, with price drops slated for Canada and
Australia (although no word so far on the UK).
