The Shiny team is a great mix of office-based bods like Susi, Zara and I, and the odd roving freelancer at loose in the wilds of Scotland or some such place. To the reading public I doubt it's possible to tell who is in the office and who is working from their living room. We maintain an office because it's good for us; we can swap ideas, meet PRs and get product demos more easily for a start. But working from home has massive advantages in this technologically connected age: it's cheaper, more practical for many and probably even more eco-friendly with such little transport required. However, the Economist Intelligence Unit has some bad news for us.
