We recently showcased Disney Star Guitarist, a new computer tutoring game complete with Washburn guitar and coloured strings but there's now an even more hi-tech method being proposed to help turn your Guitar Hero fantasies into a reality: lasers.

Meet Maestro, an attachable doohicky that you place at the bottom of the guitar and into which you put the tunes you want to learn on a memory card. Then, as the song plays, laser lights illuminate the frets where your fingers need to be in order to become the next Joe Satriani.

The MP3s are converted to guitar tablature, which is then projected by the lasers onto the frets. One of our concerns is that our fingers, while on one set of frets, would obscure the lasers trying to point out the next ones.
