VIDEO: The First OLED Photo Frame From Kodak Up Close
Are you one of those recession-proof people with a gigantic gadget budget and a shopping addict's craving to spend money NOW? Then you'll be wanting one of these: the first ever consumer OLED photo frame from Kodak. We covered its launch a few months back but now you get a chance to see one up close with the folk from Cnet. We think it's important that you check this out because after all, you'll spending the best part of £700 on a 7.6in photo frame. But hey, it's skinny, you're recession-proof and mad so who cares? Because it's OLED, it's very thin at 5.3mm, has an 800 x 600 pixel resolution and 30,000:1 contrast ratio so your photos will look amazing. As pointed out in the video, colours are astounding. It's got Wi-Fi so you can stream photos to it from your PC or Wi-Fi capable snapper [but not a Mac] and it will also playback video and MP3s. There's access to Kodak's online photo sharing site and Flickr as well. It comes with 2GB of internal storage but this can be easily bumped up using the SD Card slot while the ambient light sensor will adjust the brightness according to the light in your room. The frame is touch sensitive too so you can access all of the controls - which disappear when you're done - with your finger. It should be noted that when we first covered this, the proposed $1,000 frame cost around £520 when converted. Now that Sterling is in the toilet, the exchange rate means the price is £690.
