After the long-running teaser trailer for the latest instalment in the Star Trek movie franchise showed us the Enterprise being built, it's about bloody time we got to see a proper trailer for what's on the way next May. Thankfully, the trailer above does not disappoint. Director JJ Abrams might take some stick from the Star Trek faithful but making a 'boring' Star Trek does not look like it's going to be an issue. From an opening shot of a rebellious teen James Tiberius Kirk doing a 'Thelma & Louise Meet A Cliff' routine to Spock losing his temper, space battles, giant alien creatures and a whiff of bedroom hanky panky, the 11th movie in the franchise looks set to up the tempo.Purists have criticised the so-called 'sexing-up' of the franchise to appeal to hormonal teens but, as any level-headed fan will remind you, Captain Kirk from the original TV series was a ladies' man who tongue-wrestled more than his fair share of chiffon-clad temptresses - hardly any of them human.-Martin Lynch movies sci-fi star trek
